In the beginning, God created………..FASHION!

Black Heart February 15, 2011

UGH!!!!!! I HATE VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!!  *big sigh* No I don’t, but yesterday I woke up in a foul mood, that was prompted by an unpleaseant situation from the day before.   I won’t go into any detail as to what happened, but let me just say……………………………………my feelings were hurt.  *another big sigh*

I usually wear black, but yesterday because my heart was black with anger, hatred, spite, jealousy, and a lot of other negative emotions ( I’m being honest, folks), I purposed in my heart to wear an outfit that would set me apart from most other people who were wearing……………..*evil eye*…….. red.

This top is super cute! I love the rosette at the neckline!

Thankfully, I didn’t go to sleep another night in a bad mood.  By the end of the day, I had to come out of myself and spend time with someone whose Valentine’s Day will probably never be the same.   I was reminded that Valentine’s Day, like any other day we are allowed to see, is a day that the Lord has made and I better rejoice and be glad in it.  I hope you enjoyed your Valentine’s Day.   TTYL!

Today was my first day back at my church, since my return from Miami.  I wore something black, comfortable and I think……simply chic.  *side note* The latest edition of People StyleWatch says, pearls, pearls, and more pearls are so last season, but I beg to differ!

Here are my OOTD pics for Sunday, January 23, 2011.  You will notice some of the photos are cropped. My hair was on the ziggity boom, so……………you know how it is. LOL!  TTYL!

Chesty LaRue! LOL! LOL! LOL!

I LOVE BAUBLES!!!

One of these days, I will learn how to pose.

Baby It’s Cold Outside! October 29, 2010

*singing*

I really can’t stay (Baby, it’s cold outside)
I’ve got to go ‘way (Baby, it’s cold outside)
The evening has been (I’ve been hopin’ that you’d drop in)
So very nice (I’ll hold your hand, they’re just like ice)

Ok, so I went out last night with a friend to see Saw 3D (the movie was typical Saw and enjoyable, but don’t waste your money seeing it in 3D).  We parked about a block from the theater and I thought I was dressed appropriately for midwestern fall weather.  WRONG!  I was freezing.

Sooooooooooooo here I am last night, huddled in my really cute, gray moto style jacket by Style&Co, with a steaming cup of cafe mocha from Starbucks, kicking myself because it is almost November and I don’t have a coat! *deep breath* I have to do something about that and quick.  I live in the midwest and it won’t be long before you are praising Jesus for a 40 degree day.

I have been saying for weeks, “I need a new coat”.  I’ve talked to my mom about it, my daughter; I’ve been stalking the coats and swim areas of local department stores, I’ve searched the internet.  I’ve seen some gorgeous, cute, stylish, trendy coats.  *sigh* The majority of them in straight sizes.

This season the hottest trends in coats are military (including the aviator style jacket), camel color, real and faux fur, parkas, and the cape coat.  My favorite style is the military coat.  I want one sooooooooooooooo badly!  I want it in black, with gold buttons, and epaulets.  I want one with a funnel collar! I want some sort of feminine detail, like ruffles or the puffy, puckered shoulders!  *calm down, take a deep breath*

A winter coat for me is a major investment.  I need to be able to wear it at least 5  days out of the week.  I mean I have my Sunday go to meeting coat (I better take it to the dry cleaner) and the ugly, ratty run errands and shovel the snow coat; but I need a go to work, to the mall, to dinner, the movies coat thats cute and warm. Now honestly, I found some really cute coats at the Dorothy Perkins website, but I just couldn’t pull the trigger. Why?  *sad face* I was scared.  I have never ordered anything from DP and I was worried that I would hype myself up for a really cute coat, get it all the way from England, and it would be either: a) too small  b) too thin c) too cheap looking.

*sigh again*I’ve started the search anew, this time with the determination to have a coat in my closest in the next two weeks (and maybe a cape for kicks and giggles *wink*).
