In the beginning, God created………..FASHION!

Oooh, La, La! So Francois! February 15, 2012

I was hesitant to post pics of this outfit, because the picture quality is so…………………………….*Cathy voice* ACK!!!!!  I really thought I looked cute, though!  When I walked into my school, some of the students commented that I “look like I should be in Paris”.

Fortunately, I had my handy, dandy camera with me and I decided to take pictures.

I, honestly, just threw this outfit together!

I had been looking for an opportunity to wear my, normally for summer only, white blazer and I decided to throw it on over this cute dress I picked up on sale.  I plan to wear the blazer again soon, with some dark rinse jeggings and pumps, inspired by photos I saw in People StyleWatch magazine.  I love the idea/look of summer white in the winter time!

I promise you, these were the best pictures I took! *Blue Ivy shrug*

It was a beautiful day.

So, what am I wearing?
The blazer is from an old white pant suit I got at JCPenney a few years ago.  The dress is by L8ter.  It is the very trendy, cold shoulder style with a pleated hem and you can get it at Macy’s.  The boots are the over-the-knee style and they are from Torrid.  *side note*  The boots are slouchy on me because the boot is too big for my calves.  I cannot win for losing, in the battle of the boot vs. my big calves, but that is a story for another post.  The fishnet tights are from Ashley Stewart and the beret I stol…………………borrowed from my daughter.
I was also wearing/carrying some of my new fave accessories.  *bats eyes*

Michael Kors Grayson JetSet bag in Pink.

New Coach sunglasses. Very Jackie O!!!

Despite the fact that my pictures did not turn out as well as I would have liked, I felt great and felt like I looked great.  I just wish how I felt (and looked) could have been conveyed through the photos, better.  Oh, well!  As the french say, C’est la vie!  TTYL!

It is what it is. *shrug* November 21, 2011

The day started so well. *sigh*

I had a title for this post ready, I had taken pictures with my new camera and tripod, and the day was going smooth as silk.   I was having a super, fantastic day and then I decided to call the IRS about a tax issue, that should have been resolved but I hadn’t heard anything from them.   After being on hold for an half hour, being told that a “referral” would be sent to the agent that was handling my case, then being told that it would be 30 days before I would hear from the agent regarding the “referral”, and then talking for an hour with a taxpayer advocate it all boiled down to me having to refile some tax forms and wait another 3 months before my issue is resolved.  *shakes fist at tax preparer*

While driving down the expressway, going to the grocery store for my sweet potato pie ingredients, giving fellow drivers the stink-eye and giving my kids the business if I heard them breathe hard, I finally decided to just start mouthing the words,  ”Thank you, Jesus“, because it could be worse and say it with me…..it is, what it is.

So anywhoo, I did look cute today and I am wearing my fave new item; my Calvin Klein moto-style, faux leather jacket.  I love this jacket!!!!  I picked it up at Macy’s about a month ago and I wear it almost everyday.  It looks and feels like leather and has sweater-knit on the inside lapels.

I really like this skirt.

I love this jacket!

Well that’s all folks!  Anyone else like my jacket?  What about the skirt?   Last, but not least, can you recommend a good accoutant?  Mine is about to get FIRED!!!  TTYL!

Aww Shucks! I can’t lie to you! August 25, 2011

Hey y’all, hey! I am back at home but still on vacation.  Well…….ok.  I got a lay-off notice, but I may get called back for the new school year and if not, *shrug* I will get another job.  So I am still calling this vacation, even though technically speaking, one might say I am unemployed. *shrug again*

Anywhoo, continuing with the truth, this post today is really about the shoes I wore to church tonight.  I first saw these shoes as a status posting from Nasty Gal on my Gen321 facebook page.  The shoes are by Qupid and it was love at first sight!!!! I searched everywhere online for this shoe in my size and could find nothing!  I was heartbroken and this was one of the few occasions when I cursed my size 10 (sometimes 11) feet;  but people I serve a good God!  I serve a faithful God and after giving up all hope and putting the shoes out of my mind, what do I find while strolling through Bayside Mall in Miami, after coming back from my cruise in June?  THESE SHOES!

Oh, baby!

*in Golum voice* My preciousssssssss!

*swoon*

I was ecstatic to say the least.  I wore them today with all white.

Blazer- JCPenney, Lace Trim Tank-Old Navy, Jeans-Ashley Stewarts, Qupid T-Strap Pumps-random store in Miami, Handbag-SEE by Chloe, Two Finger Ring-Jessica Simpson Collection

I want to find just the right midi skirt to wear them with and wear the stank out of these shoes before it gets too cold.  Well, what do you think about my precious babies?  *puss in boots eyes* Aren’t they totally adorbs?  Tell me what you think y’all!

On my way to church before this white got too dirty.

STREET STYLE! *sorta* June 13, 2011

It has been so long since I posted, but this is a busy, busy time of the year for me on my job along with some other drama (some good, some not so  good).  Anywhoo, it’s not that I haven’t been taking pictures of outfits or that I didn’t have anything to blog about, it’s  just………………………..*sigh*

Anyway.  Today I took some pics in the street in front of my house,  before going to work.  I threw this on, because today was one of those perfect days (at least in my book), that was sunny, not cold, but not so hot you couldn’t wear a jacket or shrug.  I love these types of days. It allows you to be so creative with your wardrobe.   Now, I wouldn’t say my outfit of the day was that ”creative”, but it allowed me to mix and match, something old and something new.

Blazer-JCPenney (about 3 years ago), Maxi Dress-Old Navy, Sunglasses-Versace @ Macy's

Thong Sandal-Anne Klein @ Macy's

You can’t see my shoes (YAY!!! I love a super long maxi dress!), so here is a pic. *side note* There was a recent pic of LeBron James, that stirred some controversy, because it looked like he had a sixth toe.  This picture of my foot, may stir up some of the same controversy, but know that I don’t have a sixth toe, I just need to get to the shop. Real talk.  LOL!

I also wore my fave silver (or silver tone) jewelry today. My silver bamboo hoop earrings and a rhinestone ring I got a few months back.  I love this ring! It is edgy, cute, different, eye catching.  I forget what kind of bird it is supposed to be, but…….. *shrug*

Rhinestone Ring-ForLove21 *not a great picture*

Ok so,  I will be blogging more, as the school year comes to an end (this is my last week) and I will for sure have some pictures from the cruise I will be going on, the end of this month.   So, toodles!  ;^)

BACK TO BASICS! May 11, 2011

Monday, I was having one of those mornings that you sometimes have.  *so now you know this isn’t a OOTD, but more like an OOTOD-Outfit of the Other Day* I didn’t know what to wear to work, but I know I wanted to look good to lift my spirits (you know, the Monday Moanin’ Blues).  I winded up throwing on my go to color and last summers go to pants.  I felt so cute all day!  I had to kinda stay out of the limelight, because the tank I wore was a little boobalicious.   When I had to come out of my office, I made sure to keep my jacket closed out of respect for the raging hormones of middle school boys (and middle aged men).

Tuxedo style Blazer-Roaman's, Tank-Macy's, Harem Pants-ASOS Curve, Wedge Sandals-Nine West @ Macy's, Rhinestone Ring-ForLove21 (if you can see it. LOL!)

I just felt so good in this outfit and what better way to start the work week off, than feeling confident and uber-attractive *wink*.  Tell me what you think, y’all.

NAPOLEON COMPLEX!!!! May 8, 2011

First, let me say HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the mothers out there.  God bless you and I hope you enjoyed your day.

Now, on to my outfit post.  I feel like I came up SHORT in this outfit of the day!  I love the jacket I am wearing.  I got it last year from Roaman’s and I wore it a few times over the summer, but hadn’t worn it since.  I decided to pull it out today and wear with a black pencil skirt and tank.  I was high-steppin’ from my house to church and back again.  People complimented my outfit; told me how nice I looked; I took pictures before church and after.

*BIG SIGH*

Then I took a look at the pictures and my lower lip poked out.

What is so awful about the outfit? I don’t like the way the skirt is looking!  I have lost a few pounds in recent weeks and many of my standard, go-to pieces, just don’t look the same *pouting*.  Because the skirt is so big in the hip and leg area, the wrinkles from where I had been sitting are more visible.  This may seem petty or trivial, but it really bothered me.  I feel like the outfit doesn’t have a crisp look.    The black pencil skirt is a staple of my wardrobe.  I need it for work of course and I sing on the Praise and Worship team at my church so I need it for…………………40 Sundays a year.

Let me stop complaining.  I had a great Mother’s Day overall.  My Mom was in town for my sister’s graduation from college and my son took me to dinner.  I don’t know, God’s Favorite Shoes (link to the right), put it best in her blog post today….You win some, You lose some.

Grey’s/Gray’s Anatomy March 29, 2011

I am doing a twofer today.  I have pics of an outfit I wore on this past Sunday and the outfit I wore today.  I have just been lovin’ grey/gray (am I the only person who gets confused about which spelling of grey/gray to use? *shrug*)!  I have picked up so many grey/gray pieces lately, it’s ridiculous.  I am kinda leaning towards grey/gray and taupe/blush/nudes, as my colors for spring/summer (I’ve  got alot of backslashes in this post. What’s up with that? LOL!).

Anywhoo.  I recently purchased a super-cute, leather jacket from Roaman’s and I love it!  I wore it Sunday, just because.  Today, I wore more grey/gray.  I am on a shopping punishment for the month of March, but I could not pass up these Levi skinny jeans.  They are fab and I LOVE them.  They are fast, becoming my go-to jeans for the season.

I love grey/gray!

I have many, many plans for them (picture royal blue suede pumps and a coral top. *sista girl look* I’m just sayin’.).

So here are my pics from Sunday and today.  Tell me what you think.  Are you feelin’ grey/gray, like I am?  Let me know.  TTYL!

Guess what? Chicken Butt! March 20, 2011

I really like this jacket!

Hey y’all!  Since my last post, I am feeling much better.  Have problems been solved? Have situations been resolved? Not completely, but if I have learned nothing else in this Christ walk, it is to BE STRONG and TAKE COURAGE (Psalm 31:24 ESV!  To that end, no matter what is going on, I try not to isolate myself from my source of strength, the word of God and the people of God.

That means for me, making my way to the church house for bible study and Sunday service.  My attendance and participation, edifies me; reminds me of my hope and helps me to maintain my focus on Christ.

At the end of the day………………………………….God’s got me!

Ok, so………….I have pics from church service today. I love this jacket, but for some reason when I wear it, I feel like I should be cluckin’ and peckin’.   Weird?  I know. LOL!

Not the best frontal photo, but.........*shrug* Jacket-American Rag@Macy's, Tank-Merona@Target, Skirt-Ashley Stewart, Pumps-INC@Macy's, Bracelet-ForLove21

The detail in the back, just makes me feel chickenish!

Ok, so…………………I hope you had a great Sunday.  I did *big grin*!  To my situation, I say…………….Guess what?  Chicken Butt!  TTYL! ;^)

STAYCATION HAUL! YAY!!!!! February 25, 2011

*Ahhhhhhh!*

That is the sound of a woman who has enjoyed a whole week off from work.  I have needed this break since my last real break, in the summer of 2010.  No trip, but I did plenty of shopping. This was a good time to shop, because many sites were offering 50% off already reduced prices.  I took advantage of every deal, I could reasonably afford.

I started with Ashley Stewart‘s 25%  sale last weekend.  I picked up one regular priced item and one clearance item.  Here is a pic of the cute khaki, moto style jacket I got from Ashley Stewart’s .

Ashley Stewarts Asymetrical Zip Blazer-Cute! Looks good on!

After Ashley Stewart, Roamans had the unmitigated gaul to send me a notice that they were giving me a % off and free shipping.  Here are some pics of what I got from Roamans site.

Roamans La Redoute Sculptered Dress-Didn't get the dress in gray, but in Fuschia. I haven't tried on yet, but I have high hopes! *grin*

Roamans Charcoal Blanket Sweater-Looking forward to wearing this with leggings/jeggings in the spring!

I then moved on to Bag, Borrow, and Steal. This is the sister site of Avelle.  Avelle rents designer handbags, but BBOS sells new and pre-owned designer bags.  Well, I get their emails and came across this Juicy Couture handbag for a nice price (I had a discount code, too. *cha-ching*)

Bag, Borrow, and Steal Juicy Couture China C Leather Handbag-It is not as purple as the photo and I am grateful. The patina on it is so retro and chic! I love it and started carrying it today.

I was not finished! Oh, no! I had to get some shoes. *sistah girl look*  I got some leopard print pumps from DOTS and these cute shoes from DSW Warehouse.

DSW Kelis Pump-How cute are these?!

Lastly, I hit one of my favorite sites, Alloy.  They had a great clearance sale and I missed out on some things by one day, but I did pick up some cute pieces.

Alloy Giovanna Puff Sleeve Dress-Haven't decided if I will wear with belt or not.

Alloy Gabriella Dolman-Cute on and blousy. Can't wait to wear!

Alloy-Chinese Laundry Midnight Skinny Jean/Cute, but a little low rise and loose in the waist. I will need a belt.

Whew! Just writing about this stuff has tuckered me out.  I only have the weekend and then back to the saltmine.  Let me get off of this computer and into my bed with some ice water and a bag of Better Made chips. TTYL!

School of Rock! January 25, 2011

Yeah, I titled this post, School of Rock. It’s a stretch, but…..*shrug*  This is just a quick OOTD post of what I wore to work today.  This outfit was inspired by a blogger’s OOTD post I viewed some weeks ago and unfortunately *mega sad face*I can’t remember which blogger it was, so I can’t give proper credit.

She had on the same skirt and I had recently picked up the skirt in the colors black and blue at Macy’s.  I can’t wait until spring, because I want to try a color block thing with the blue skirt.   Anywhoo, I work in the local schools and I try to be different, fun, and cute without pushing the envelope on appropriateness.

You can't really see the ID bracelet, but it is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. It says MUSIC (how appropriate, now that I think about it *smug look*) and it is made by Harajuku Lovers.

This is my take on her look (I feel so bad, that I can’t remember who’s site it was *mega, mega sad face*). *side note* I have been playing with the computer and image effects on my pics, but what I realized today is that I am really trying to hide my disgust with the fact that my hair is not………………………………..UGH!  I hate my hair right now. So, my pics are in sepia tones. Yada, yada, yada.  TTYL!

Rockin' my outfit! Faux leather jkt-Dots, scarf-Ashley Stewarts, INC turtleneck-Macy's, INC tiered ruffle skirt-Macy's, tights-Ashley Stewart, Moto Boots-DSW, Bamboo Hoops-Pawn Shop, Belt-borrowed from a dress

Still working on how to pose *shrug*.
