It Takes So Little To Make Me Happy! July 30, 2011

This is just a quickie, but I had to blog about my day today.  I was not feeling well earlier and was just………………….very blah.  I was physically in pain and emotionally just out of it.  I had so many plans for the day; things I wanted to do and things I had to do, but I was just not feelin’ it.  Anywhoo, my phone gives me this little ping and I check it.  I have some new tweets and a DM.  So, I check the DM and……………………….OMG!  It is a message from Girl With Curves!  I won a contest on her blog and my prize was a dress from BeBop Clothing!

I instantly went from doldroms and discomfort to this!

I was able to get out of the bed, put on some clothes, and make my way to rehearsal! It takes so little to make me happy (I have tried to get men I date to grasp this concept, but to no avail).  Gifts, money, compliments, free things, more compliments, more money, and loads of attention are an instant pick me up!

Of course I will post with the prize winning dress.  I can’t wait to get it.

*Deep Breath* Ok, so this wasn’t really an OOTD, but what do you think of my thrifted t-shirt?  Stripes are one of the top trends and when I bought this tee, I bought two other striped items.  Leave comments, please and I will ttyl! *skips off grinning*

STREET STYLE! *sorta* June 13, 2011

It has been so long since I posted, but this is a busy, busy time of the year for me on my job along with some other drama (some good, some not so  good).  Anywhoo, it’s not that I haven’t been taking pictures of outfits or that I didn’t have anything to blog about, it’s  just………………………..*sigh*

Anyway.  Today I took some pics in the street in front of my house,  before going to work.  I threw this on, because today was one of those perfect days (at least in my book), that was sunny, not cold, but not so hot you couldn’t wear a jacket or shrug.  I love these types of days. It allows you to be so creative with your wardrobe.   Now, I wouldn’t say my outfit of the day was that “creative”, but it allowed me to mix and match, something old and something new.

You can’t see my shoes (YAY!!! I love a super long maxi dress!), so here is a pic. *side note* There was a recent pic of LeBron James, that stirred some controversy, because it looked like he had a sixth toe.  This picture of my foot, may stir up some of the same controversy, but know that I don’t have a sixth toe, I just need to get to the shop. Real talk.  LOL!

I also wore my fave silver (or silver tone) jewelry today. My silver bamboo hoop earrings and a rhinestone ring I got a few months back.  I love this ring! It is edgy, cute, different, eye catching.  I forget what kind of bird it is supposed to be, but…….. *shrug*

Rhinestone Ring-ForLove21 *not a great picture*

Ok so,  I will be blogging more, as the school year comes to an end (this is my last week) and I will for sure have some pictures from the cruise I will be going on, the end of this month.   So, toodles!  ;^)

Grey’s/Gray’s Anatomy March 29, 2011

I am doing a twofer today.  I have pics of an outfit I wore on this past Sunday and the outfit I wore today.  I have just been lovin’ grey/gray (am I the only person who gets confused about which spelling of grey/gray to use? *shrug*)!  I have picked up so many grey/gray pieces lately, it’s ridiculous.  I am kinda leaning towards grey/gray and taupe/blush/nudes, as my colors for spring/summer (I’ve  got alot of backslashes in this post. What’s up with that? LOL!).

Anywhoo.  I recently purchased a super-cute, leather jacket from Roaman’s and I love it!  I wore it Sunday, just because.  Today, I wore more grey/gray.  I am on a shopping punishment for the month of March, but I could not pass up these Levi skinny jeans.  They are fab and I LOVE them.  They are fast, becoming my go-to jeans for the season.

I love grey/gray!

I have many, many plans for them (picture royal blue suede pumps and a coral top. *sista girl look* I’m just sayin’.).

So here are my pics from Sunday and today.  Tell me what you think.  Are you feelin’ grey/gray, like I am?  Let me know.  TTYL!

*SIGH* March 14, 2011

Keepin a smile on my face. I try to never let em' see me sweat!

I am having one of those days, weeks, months.  I don’t know people. *smh* I just don’t know.  I started to title this OOTD post, Tsunami, but out of respect for the people of Japan and respect for the enormity of the tragedy in Japan, I backed off of that title.

I feel like my life right now is a disaster zone.  Nothing but debris and brokenness.

What helps me to keep perspective, is the disaster in Japan.  While I may be going through some emotional hurts and other things right now, there are people across the world from me, who are in a real disaster zone.

Anywhoo.  I took some pics today of my outfit.  This outfit made me feel better, cause I think I look cute.  Putting on makeup and a nice outfit always makes me feel great.  The top is one of those blousy tops, with lace inserts, that makes me think of Tijuana and arts and crafts stalls in small villages.  The jeans are what I have come to expect from Alloy; super cute and just the right length for heels.  My boots from BCBG Generation are clog style.  I have never been a big fan of clogs, but when I saw these boots at Macy’s, I had to have them.  I had planned to wear the boots exclusively with jeggings, but that was just short-sighted on my part.  They are comfy to walk in and perfect for boot cut jeans.

Well………this has not been the most cheery of posts, but I had to put it out there (and I wanted to show off my outfit).  i’m goin through y’all, so I need praying people to pray for me.  Non-praying people………………………just tell me I look cute. Compliments always make me feel better. *shrug*  I will talk to y’all later!

Saturday Night Special!!! February 26, 2011

Gray&Black Cardigan-DOTS, Black Tank-Ashley Stewart, Chinese Laundry Midnight Skinny-Alloy, Gray Pumps-Rainbow (summer 2010)

This is just a quick post. I wore some things today, that I acquired while on vacation.  Today was the African-American History Month event at my church and I had to emcee, act in some skits, and play stage hand.

This is the outfit I wore tonight (I had a couple of costume changes for skits. *shrug*). Ignore my messy living room and tell me what you think?

I love the way this cardigan falls. It was the last one at DOTS.

Rerun! February 18, 2011

The perk of working at two schools is, I can wear an outfit twice in a week or twice in a two-week period.  I finally wore my velvet shorts and tweeted about wearing the outfit earlier this week.  I didn’t take pics the first go round, but I took pics today.  I really wanted to wear the shorts with some knee high boots, but I didn’t want to stunt on the staff and students, too hard!

You have a very short window of opportunity to wear velvet, so i’m wearing the STANK out these shorts before the official start of spring.

Take a look at the pics and tell me what you think.  TTYL!

Don’t Mess with My TuTu! November 30, 2010

This is a quick post.  I finally wore my ASOS Curve Asymetric Tutu skirt.  I so LOVE it and I wore it to work (at the retailer that shall not be named).  I rocked it with a black tank, faux leather moto jacket, moto style boots, and black tights.  I got so many compliments (and sales *sly grin*)! These pics are not the best, but I want to thank my daughter for taking them for me.  I WILL  be wearing the skirt again real soon and I will post better pictures.  Ta-ta!
