Well, it’s November 3, 2010. The day after mid-term elections. Some people are overwhelmed with joy and others……………………………. just have to swallow the bitter pill of defeat.
I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the outcome of the elections in my local community, but you win some, you lose some. I can take pride in the fact that I participated in the democratic process and the ability to vote is the very definition of democracy. People in China are living in an authoritarian regime with no voice in government; Chad, same thing; Republic of Congo, same thing; Uzbekistan, authoritarian regime, same thing. So……………………i’ll swallow the, horse tranquilizer size, pill of disappointment and pray for our elected leaders.
Whether you consider yourself a card carrying member of the Republican Party, Democratic Party, Tea Party, Coffee Party, or Dance Pary USA, I hope everyone who is reading this post showed their appreciation for the privilege of being able to participate (unlike the people who live in the aforementioned countries) in the democratic process and voted yesterday.
Now. Election day, is a day of no school for students in the district I work for, so I could kinda dress down (Awww, who am I kidding? I would have worn this whether they were there or not. *shrug*). Anywhoo, I thought since it is election day, I would dress in a very……… *tapping my chin with my index finger*……..all-American style. Simple, but cute (or so I thought). What do you think?
